Biography

Sebastián Loiácono is graduated from Manuel de Falla National Higher Conservatory of Music, in addition to taking private lessons with prominent saxophonists: George Garzone, Eric Alexander, Gary Smulyan, Antonio Hart, Vincent Herring.

In his trips to New York he has played with Ron McClure (USA), Leo Genovese (ARG), Joe Cohn (USA), Earl Grice (USA), Johnny O'Neal, etc.

In 2017 he was part of the Vincent Herring (USA) sextet on his tour of Argentina together with Anthony Wonsey (USA), David Williams (USA), Willie Jones III (USA) and Mariano Loiácono (ARG). During the same year he played with Luis Perdomo (VEN), Mimi Jones (USA) and Rudy Royston (USA) trio. In addition, he was selected to be part of the Louis Sclavis (FRA) residence in the Usina del Arte of Buenos Aires.

In 2018 he participated in the tour of Argentina by the David Williams (USA) Quartet with Eric Alexander (USA), David Hazeltine (USA) and Joe Farnsworth (USA). In June of the same year he performed with Sheila Jordan in Buenos Aires and Rosario. Likewise, on the day of "International Jazz Day" he played with Antonio Hart and the Big Orchestra of CCK.

In addition, with Dave Douglas (USA) during his time in Buenos Aires and later with Gary Smulyan (USA) in the framework of the Buenos Aires jazz festival.

In 2019 he performed concerts with Carl Allen (USA), Clarence Penn (USA) and Cyrus Chesnut (USA) in their respective visits to Argentina. In November he recorded his first album as a leader with Harold Danko (USA), Jay Anderson (USA) and Jeff Hirshfield (USA) which has just been released .

In 2022 he toured Spain playing at the Milano Jazz Club in Barcelona and the Jimmy Glass in Valencia. Additionally, he played with Eve Cornelious (USA) and Antonio Hart (USA) on their respective tours of Argentina. 

So far in 2023 shared on the Argentine stage with Steve Davis (USA); He was part of the Carl Allen Quintet (USA) with Donald Vega (Nicaragua), Liany Mateo (USA) and Mariano Loiacono (ARG) and was also a member of the Quintet of the great singer Mary Stallings (USA). 

He is currently part of Mariano Loiácono Quintet, Mariano Loiácono Big Orchestra, Julia Moscardini Group and leads his own quintet. In addition to working as a teacher in Carlos Giraudo Higher Music Conservatory, Marcos Juarez city, Córdoba.
